Fortney Hayride '09

We went to Kirksville for the weekend in order to attend Nicholas' birthday party. The first thing we saw upon our arrival was horses crossing Baltimore...I knew I was home! :)

Trampoline fun with the kids!

Sister, Aunt Barbara, Aunt Carol, and Susan
Nick's birthday cake while it's still pretty.
Time to eat!

Kevin thought this was rather appropriate!! ha ha
Dad and Grandpa
Carrie and Nick
Zoey, Millie, and Aunt Donna

Mom and Susan thought they were so clever on this picture!
Dad, Stephanie, and Kevin
Time for presents! First up....a basketball goal
Next....his very own 4-wheeler!!

Time for the hayride! Little did we know how the hayride would end...ha ha

Yes....you are seeing the picture right....we are now in trucks. The hayride was not so smooth when we had a tire fall off! We had to be rescued by trucks!! So half hayride/half truck ride. And much to Nick's disappointment the trucks did not take us to Dairy Queen! LOL! :)

Aunt Donna in the hospital....again

Aunt Donna received a short stay at St. Luke's hospital this week. We keep meeting under these unfortunate circumstances. I love for my family to be here in KC...I just wish it was solely for a fun visit. Hopefully her earlier heart procedure will work and be able to get her heart's rhythm under control.

I'm sure the hospital was pretty boring until the clan arrived!! :) I'm sure we were a little rowdy...thank goodness Aunt Donna had a room to herself. Kim, Dilyne, Zoey, and Paige were down and they all stayed at Derick and Will's house.
Dilyne had put makeup on the Zoey and Paige. Paige was not in a good mood while at the hospital and refused to have her picture taken, however, Zoey happily obliged to the photo op!
On Saturday, Kevin and I went over to Derick and Will's place to hang out with everyone. Zoey and Paige sure kept us entertained.

We all decided to pile in the suburban and go get Sheridan's frozen custard!! This was an adventure. While stopped at an intersection we heard a loud CRUNCH!!! and looked around and saw in the QuikTrip parking lot a giant U-Haul which had hit a SUV and demolished the side. Needless to say, the SUV owner was not happy, however, he jumped out of the vehicle yelling and screaming making a scene which while was entertaining to spectators was NOT necessary.

5 yr olds and ice cream did not mix very well. I think Zoey and Paige ended up with more ice cream on their clothes then in their mouth!! ha ha :)
And last but not least....I let Zoey and Paige take some pictures with my camera and this is what I got!!! I'm highly doubting either one of them will grow up to be photographers. :) I do have to admit though I remember when I was young (way before digital cameras) and my mom would take my film to be developed....the outcome of those pictures and the ones below are very similar. For some reason the need for people's heads to be included in the picture is not a requirement from a kid's perpective....well there is one pic of me which includes my head at an EXTREMELY close distance!!!
